Alpha-H Liquid Gold Review

I got this skincare product in my Marks & Spencer's Advent Calendar 2016, and oh my it is awesome! So good that I decided to do a review on it.

'Revitalises and assists in firming the skin in a single application through a multi-action formula of silk protein and liquorice'

At first when I saw this product I was rather apprehensive due to the name because 'liquid gold' seemed a bit strange of a product to put on your face. Once I used this product I realised the name because it really is liquid gold because it is so good. It firms the face and leaves it feeling so nice and clean. The smell is a bit like nail polish remover due to the liquorice extracts but didn't strip the skin like a nail polish remover would. The liquorice within the formula visibly reduces the appearance of hyper-pigmentation, acne, scarring and presumably wrinkles. The liquorice also helps with softening and soothing the skin. The formula also contains glycolic acid to aid with rejuvenating the skin and it really does. I would recommend this to anyone who has minor skin complaints because, for me at least, it really helps.

Uses of Tea Tree Essential Oil

At some point or another we have all probably heard of tea tree oil. Tea tree is amazing in many different ways and I intend to show you how.

Tea tree oil is derived from the leaves of the 'Tea Tree'. The oil can be used as an antiseptic, and because of it's many compounds also has antimicrobial properties.

Here are some uses of tea tree oil:

-Get rid of spots and blemishes
-Relief from razor burns
-Treat cuts and wounds
-Reduces acne
-Helps cure chapped lips
-Helps cures dry skin
-Good for insect bites
-Controls body odour
-Helps with hair growth
-Fights dandruff
-Fights bacterial and viral infections
-Helps ward off a cold
-Keeps bugs away (massive win)

Here's some caution for if you use tea tree oil:

-Never consume it
-A little goes a long way
-It is very strong

What if I remained friends with the people I used to be friends with?

I sometimes wonder what my life would be like if I was still friends with the people I was friends with in primary school. I often think this if when I am sometimes surrounded by a group of 'friends' but I still feel alone, because are they truly 'friends' if you still feel alone?
One of my friends from primary was one of the popular girls. Once we got to secondary school she remained the popular girl and I kind of just existed. We never really talked and we grew apart. I often wonder what it would be like if I was still friends with her. I think I could have got thinner, all the girls in that group were and are thin and so I think I would have been more motivated. She would probably encourage me if that was what I wanted to do and come to the gym with me so I wasn't on my own. I feel like if we were still friends then my name would be better known. People know her name but do they really know mine? I also wonder would I have a good friendship group, everyone in her friendship group now are pretty close whereas in mine chaos tends to reign and arguments are almost common, except for a few people. I feel like I would have learnt not to be a wallflower if I were still friends with her, she tends to go to parties whereas I do not and if I do then by the wall is where I tend to remain because the coolness of it gives me a reminder that I am here and that I won't get dragged away by crowds. But, if I were still friends with her where would mine and her loyalty lie. I would stick up for her through everything as I very often did, whereas she did not. Her other friends called me names and she stood back and said nothing. That was kind of the final straw for me that furthered our impending separation. As the procrastinator I am, I can't help but think of all these possibilities, because maybe in another universe somewhere we are still friends and everything played out right, or maybe it didn't. But I can still wonder.

2017 Goals

Fortunately for almost all, 2016 has come to an end. It doesn't really seem like much time has passed since last New Years even though so many things have happened. 2017 will hopefully be a good year, here are the ways that I will try to make it better for me:

Travel More
By travelling, I don't even mean leave the country! I have family all over the country; Scotland, Manchester, London and I would love to go there more often. I would also like to visit new places in the UK like Brighton, Edinburgh, Isle of Skye, etc. I already know that this month, before I even go back to school I will be going to Liverpool and Manchester so it seems like we are off to a good start.

Care Less, Say yes

I always so no to things, hate being under stress and don't like things unless they are planned in advance. I said no to quite a few things last year and my aim is to say yes to things and not care about the potential 'consequences' as much. This way I might be able to cross some of the things off my bucketlist when the opportunity is presented to me.

Be More Organised
I already like to think that I am quite organised but every year my aim is to remain organised and make everything a bit neater whether it be in my school work, bedroom, or just keeping my makeup brushes clean and organised.

Document Memories
I love documenting memories. Whether it be in a journal, scrapbook, or in photographs. I aim to document more memories because life can change at any moment and then you might regret not documenting the good parts. I am not very good at keeping a journal but I will try to as the one I have now you only need to write a sentence down every day. I also have a scrapbook for places I have been and so I aim to fill a bit more of that up.

I already read a lot and it actually baffles me as to why hardly any of my friends read, I mean yes I know that time seems to be short in a day but I always try to find a space to read. Whether it be whilst in a bubblebath, before bed, or (where I get most reading done) on holiday on a sunlounger. I have so many books on my bookshelves that it is almost overflowing and I still haven't read so many of them.

What I got for Christmas 2016

This year I got lots of amazing presents and I am grateful for all of them. I thought I would share what I got, as is usual, I do not mean to brag but know that I love seeing these types of posts.

My main present was this 15" Chromebook, which I am typing on right now. The screen is massiveMy mum and dad bought me this. and I was in need of a new laptop as my old one was broken.

My Grandma and Grandad bought me this Cachet watch which will most definitely look better than my old bright blue one.

The Quinns bought me this light box and I love it. bI have been wanting to get one of these for ages.

Various people bought my Soap & Glory because anyone who knows me knows that I love bath stuff.

My Aunty Pam and Madge bought me this Benefit gift set which includes lots of mini sized best sellers. I am looking forward to trying these out.

My Mum got me some coffee chocolates because I am strange and like the chocolates that everyone else leaves AKA coffee chocolates and bounty.

My Grandma and Grandad also bought me this facial brush which looks very good. I have been wanting to try out one of these for ages.

As you can probably guess, I absolutely adore Alice In Wonderland, well I mean it did inspire my blog name. My Grandma and Grandad bought me this gorgeous hardback classics edition and a bookmark to go with it. Somehow I have never actually read Alice In Wonderland so when I opened this I legit screamed.

My mum and dad bought me this book because whenever I am in a Waterstones I always see it and always have to get dragged away so that I don't buy the entire store. I love writing and this book will help me with ideas of what to write about.

My Nana and Grandad bought me This Modern Love by Will Darbyshire. I have been wanting this for so long because I loved the concept of it and admire Will.

My friend Lucy/Philly got me this lightbulb glass and OMG it is one of the cutest things I have ever seen!

Lucy also got me these Sephora sheet masks that I love. I originally saw them when we were in New York together on a school trip but didn't buy many and totally regretted not getting more. Whilst Lucy was in Italy this year she bought me these and OMG Philly stop being so cute!

On the note of Lucy being adorable, she also bought me this clock decoration which immediately reminded me of Alice In Wonderland. It is so intricate and cute.

I received so many amazing gifts but I have only shown a few. A massive thank you to everyone who bought me presents and Merry Christmas to everyone.

ASOS Wishlist

Once again I found quite a bit of stuff that I adore from ASOS. Here's what I found:

I really want just a minimalistic watch and this one is perfect. I originally just wanted a black one but I love the marble print on this one. This costs £30.00

I love boots and have always wanted some nice Chelsea boots and I think these are gorgeous. These cost £38.00

I love the colour black and so that ticks one preference off the checklist. I also like the colour blue but hardly ever wear it and so I think this is a good way to put a little bit of colour into an outfit. This costs £25.00

I love pyjamas and even live at them sometimes on weekends. I could happily wear these pjs all day long because they're so pretty. These cost £30.00

Autumn is here and so 'BRING OUT THE COATS!'. this coat is gorgeous and I adore the colour and style of it. This costs £75.00

I don't really have a handbag as such and usually just use my black leather backpack but this bag seems so pretty. I really like the pattern on it and the fact that the background is black is perfect because it will go with my outfits. This costs £20.00

I love jewellery and I tend to wear long necklaces but I do love chokers. I like that this is quite loose and I also love geometric shapes and so the simple circle is perfect. This costs £18.00

I don't really wear heels but these are so gorgeous! I love the straps, studs, heel... basically all of it. These cost £50.00

I like layering items in my outfits and I feel like this dress would be nice with a black jacket or a nice cardigan over the top and lots of accessories. This costs £15.00

I saw this and thought it was quite awesome. I love photos and photography but never really have anywhere to put them. I think that this is a great way to display photos. This costs £11.00
