Alpha-H Liquid Gold Review

I got this skincare product in my Marks & Spencer's Advent Calendar 2016, and oh my it is awesome! So good that I decided to do a review on it.

'Revitalises and assists in firming the skin in a single application through a multi-action formula of silk protein and liquorice'

At first when I saw this product I was rather apprehensive due to the name because 'liquid gold' seemed a bit strange of a product to put on your face. Once I used this product I realised the name because it really is liquid gold because it is so good. It firms the face and leaves it feeling so nice and clean. The smell is a bit like nail polish remover due to the liquorice extracts but didn't strip the skin like a nail polish remover would. The liquorice within the formula visibly reduces the appearance of hyper-pigmentation, acne, scarring and presumably wrinkles. The liquorice also helps with softening and soothing the skin. The formula also contains glycolic acid to aid with rejuvenating the skin and it really does. I would recommend this to anyone who has minor skin complaints because, for me at least, it really helps.

Uses of Tea Tree Essential Oil

At some point or another we have all probably heard of tea tree oil. Tea tree is amazing in many different ways and I intend to show you how.

Tea tree oil is derived from the leaves of the 'Tea Tree'. The oil can be used as an antiseptic, and because of it's many compounds also has antimicrobial properties.

Here are some uses of tea tree oil:

-Get rid of spots and blemishes
-Relief from razor burns
-Treat cuts and wounds
-Reduces acne
-Helps cure chapped lips
-Helps cures dry skin
-Good for insect bites
-Controls body odour
-Helps with hair growth
-Fights dandruff
-Fights bacterial and viral infections
-Helps ward off a cold
-Keeps bugs away (massive win)

Here's some caution for if you use tea tree oil:

-Never consume it
-A little goes a long way
-It is very strong

Topshop Chameleon Glow Eyeshadow First Impressions

On Saturday I went on a shopping trip with my Pretzel Squad. Whilst in Topshop I found this beauty and was immediately obsessed. I got the Chameleon Glow Eyeshadow in the shade 'Wax and Wane'. It cost £9 which is quite a bit for just a random glittery eyeshadow you might say, but this is no ordinary eyeshadow. This eyeshadow is practically stardust...IT'S SO GLITTERY!!! I think that I would probably wear an eyeshadow underneath this as it is quite opaque. Honestly though, as I was walking around the shopping centres I kept on looking at my hand and it made me really excited that it was so glittery.

It was too hard to just do a swatch on my hand as it is so opaque and it was quite hard to take the photo whilst it was in a good light. As you can tell from the photo, the eyeshadow has a pink tint to it and so I will probably pair it with Urban Decay's 'limit' from my Naked 3 palette.

Hairstyle I love pt.2

Once again I have taken to Pinterest to find some interesting bits and bobs. As you will be able to tell by the title of this blog post this post is on hairstyles. To find more hairstyles that I like or just to find inspiration for other things then follow me on Pinterest.

I always adore this girls hair colour and style even though I don't know her name. This blue looks so good on her and I wish I could suit something that bold.

I love this hairstyle because grey hair in this sense looks really cool and the black makes it seem more striking and more natural even though grey hair tends to appear from the roots, not the ends.

I think this hairstyle looks quite cute and elegant but the bright colour makes it look even better.

The 'hun' has to make an appearance on the list because I really like it, even though I can't pull it off because of thin hair.

I love this hairstyle because the length makes it look adorable, the colour looks really cool and the black roots make it look edgier. Also, the flowers are an awesome touch.

I remember when I was little I used to wear my hair a bit like this. I can imagine wearing this hair on a duvet day and just staying in all day bingeing on Netflix.

Again we have the 'hun'. I really like this length hair with this hairstyle and the highlights in the hair make it look even prettier.

I like this length of hair and I also like the way that it isn't perfectly straight but also doesn't look like it's been touched by heat to make it wavy.

This hair colour looks really cool and this girl definitely pulls it off.

This cable braid reminds me of Rapunzel from Tangled put a shorter, pink version, minus the flowers.

Vegas Inspired Make-up | Vegas.com

I am participating in a challenge created by Vegas.com . The challenge is to create a makeup look that can follow through from day to night. If you're interested in going to Vegas then you should check out the Package deals at Vegas.com.

My Tips
-Make sure to use a primer before putting your makeup on in the morning.
-Wear makeup setting spray.
-Put a lipstick, mascara and eyeliner in your bag.
-Make sure to take off your makeup on the night and to moisturise your skin after wearing your makeup for so long.

My first place I have chosen to inspire my makeup look, for the day time, is The Bellagio Resort. My look will try to be shining like the lights of the resort using highlighter and eyeshadow. The Bellagio Resort is described as 'The epitome of quality, romance and elegance on the Las Vegas Strip, the Bellagio offers luxurious rooms, gourmet restaurants and upscale shopping along with a healthy dose of cultural enlightenment.
My Makeup Look

I used Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 'Fair' under my eyes and to cover any spots. I decided not to use any foundation because it would be heavy on my face in the desert that is Las Vegas. I used Makeup Revolution 'Golden Sugar' blush palette. If you have seen one of my previous posts on the palette then I used the shades that I named 'Rose Moon' with 'Peppa' over the top. I used 'jazz' on my cheekbones to give a warm, rosy look. On my eyes I used collection 'No Clumps' mascara, followed by Avon Colourtrend mascara to boost the volume. The eyeshadows I used were from the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. I used 'Nooner' in the crease of my eye and then filled in the centre of my eyelid with 'Limit' and a bit of 'Burnout' over the top to make it sparkle. To make the look a bit more 'glamorous' I added my trustworthy Seventeen 'High Drama Liquid Liner'.

My second place that I have chosen, for my night time inspiration, is Hyde Nightclub at the Bellagio resort. This is definitely a place to put makeup to the test. The Hyde nightclub is described as an 'Indoor-Outdoor nightclub overlooking the fountains overlooking Bellagio'.

My Makeup Look

I used the same concealer and blush ,but this time I used 'Stardust' as a highlighter. On my eyes, I used the same mascaras but used the Collection 'No Clumps' on my bottom lashes. I used Lacura Beauty eyeliner in the colour 'smoke' on my waterline. Again I used eyeshadows from the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. This time, I used 'Darkside' in the crease and then 'Liar' across the rest of my eyelid. I also used my Seventeen 'High Drama Liquid Eyeliner' again and did a flick.

Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar Blush First Impressions

This is the amazing Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar Blush Palette. I mean seriously how amazingly pretty is this! I have been wanting this for so long and when I went on a shopping trip with my friends the other week, I saw this whilst in Superdrug but I had already spent all my money. I later went shopping with my mum and saw it again. This time I was prepared and had all £6. That's right. This was only £6. For all 8 shades!

I love the packaging for the product. I like that it looks so sleek, the rose gold lettering makes it seem more professional and interesting.

The back of the box has a preview of the shades inside. In my opinion the pictures don't do the shades any justice because you can't see their dazzling shine or pigmentation.

The palette itself sticks to the sleek minimalistic vibe and also has metallic lettering.

First Row
The shades don't have names which is a bit sad. So instead whilst I talk about them, I will give them names to refer to them. I pronounce this one to be 'stardust'
. This highlight is gorgeous and is super pigmented and reflects really well in the light.

I call this one 'Peppa' after Peppa Pig. Peppa is quite a light pink and is the most pink toned out of all the blushers. This also has a lovely shimmer.

This one I call 'rose moon'. Rose moon is a bit more purple toned than Peppa and again has high quality pigmentation and  a gorgeous shimmer.

This one I call 'golden sand'. Golden Sand is very reflective and would look great with a tan to make you seem like a golden goddess (not that this would even happen to me because I would look like a tomato).

The shades I have shown are quite subtle but have an amazing shine to them. In order from left to right: Moonshine, Peppa, Rose Moon, Golden Sand

Second Row

This one I call 'Jupiter'. Jupiter is more of a nudey brown colour and is more subtle than the other brown shades.

This one I call 'jazz'. I adore this one. The sparkle from this one is enough to burn your eyes out, in a good way (if that is possible). This is the most purple toned shade and as you might be able to tell by my slight exaggeration, it is so beautifully shiny.

This one I call 'carrat'. Carrat is quite a golden brown, almost like Golden Sand but more brown toned.

This one I call 'Matty Healy'. Matty is the only matte shade in the palette and is a brown shade that is useful for contouring.

These shades are the darker shades. In order from left to right: Jupiter, Jazz, Carrat, Matty Healy.

The Classic Eyeliner Flick In 15 Minutes

I love wearing eyeliner and even though I may not be the best, I still like knowing that it is there. I am weird like that and like my eyes way more than anything else on my body. I thought I would share with you all how to do a classic eyeliner flick. (This includes you Jonathan, you should try this)

Step 1
Starting in the centre, draw a line each way along the top lash line, as close to the lashes as possible.

Step 2
From the outside corner of your eye, draw a line angled upwards, approximately 5mm in length, towards the end of your brows.

Step 3
From the tip of this line, draw back towards the lash line about a third of the way along the eye.

Step 4
Fill in the gap and apply mascara. And that is how to get a classic flick in less than 15 minutes.

7 Deadly Sins of Beauty

I have seen this post done before but I can't remember who did it. I saw it and thought why not give it a go and confess my 7 deadly sins of beauty.

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
My most inexpensive beauty item is probably my natural collection powder as it costs £1.99. My most expensive beauty item is the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, it is so gorgeous and worth the £38.50 though.

2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?
I have a rather love/hate relationship with MUA eyeshadows. I used to have a lot of them but they always used to break up into that type of powder where it gets everywhere. I went off them for a while but would go back on them because the colours were really nice.

3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?
I don't understand what is meant by delicious as I don't tend to eat lipsticks like carrots or drink foundation like a smoothie. I will interpret it in the way of scent. MAC lipsticks always smell really nice and don't taste too bad in a weird way.

4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
I am very lazy with my lip-liner. I have lip-liner but I never use it. It just makes it take so long and if I am just quickly going out then I don't want to spend forever on it.

5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
I feel like my eyeliner gives me the most self-confidence. I always feel like if I were only allowed to have make-up on one section of my face then it would be my eyes. When I wear eyeliner it makes me feel more glamorous or edgy depending on my style that day.

6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
When I am boy-watching, totally not a thing I do but just to represent the fact that I look at the male species, I usually tend to think they are more attractive if they are tall, don't have a buzz-cut but also don't look like Shaggy from Scooby-doo (you know what I mean, that pretty, longish hair), and if they have pretty eyes. I also think it is quite attractive if they have a nose ring (but only some guys), and sometimes tattoos that look like they weren't just done to make them look buff.

7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

When it is my birthday or Christmas I love receiving presents that I can do something with, like sequin art. I can open it up ad do it straight away. I also love receiving books and make-up that I wouldn't buy myself because I feel like it is too much of a treat.

How Much Is My Face Worth?

I have seen quite a few people try this blog post and all the ones that I have seen have been quite interesting in the way that they add up at the end. I am going to say now and I will not change it once I have found out the end total, but I think that my everyday school face of make-up doesn't cost that much. I wonder if I will be wrong?

Everyday/School Make-up
Natural Collection Concealer - £1.99
MAC Studio Fix Foundation NW10 - £22.00
Natural Collection Powder - £1.99
Collection No Clumps Mascara - £2.99
Collection Supersize Fat Lash Mascara - £2.99
Avon Colour Trend Plump Out Mascara (Yep I use a lot of mascara in one day) - £4.50
Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette - £38.50
Lipsmacker Cherry Cola - £2.00

Total = £76.96

Night Out Make-up
Natural Collection Concealer - £1.99
MAC Studio Fix Foundation NW10 - £22.00
Natural Collection Powder - £1.99
Collection No Clumps Mascara - £2.99
Collection Supersize Fat Lash Mascara - £2.99
Avon Colour Trend Plump Out Mascara - £4.50
Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette - £38.50
MAC Mehr Lipstick - £15.50
Seventeen High Drama Eyeliner - £3.99

Total = £94.45

In my opinion compared to some other people this isn't that bad. Yes it most definitely is a lot of money to be spent on make-up but in reality I am more likely to spend money on a coat, pair of shoes or books instead of all high-end brands. A lot of my make-up is under the £5 mark apart from higher end brands like MAC and Urban Decay and I only bought them in New York because they were cheaper there *laughing emoji*.

My MAC Make-Over Experience

For my birthday I was given £30 to spend in MAC as well as a make-over. This make-over was scheduled for Thursday 7th April when I was going shopping with the girls in my family. There is a MAC shop in House Of Fraser at the Metrocentre in Newcastle so we went there. I really enjoyed the experience but at first I was really nervous in case they did something I didn't like because there would be no way that I would say I didn't like it. I was so nervous that I even brought a bag with my usual make-up in and make-up wipes just in case. When I got there I was asked to sit in one of the chairs in-front of one of those really cool mirrors with awesome lighting. I had to take my original make-up off and then we decided on what the make-up artist, Aimee, was going to do to my face. I got make-up matched to my skin-tone (vampire pale) and then the make-over went under way. To be honest I had nothing to be worried about because I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't usually get the chance for someone else to do my make-up properly so it was a big change. It then got to the part that I was most worried about, EYEBROWS! I was really worried that I'd end up having sharpie brows. I naturally have pretty well shaped and full eyebrows and so was pretty nervous when she whipped out an eyebrow pencil. After all the worrying my eyebrows actually looked pretty good as she only touched them up a tiny bit.
Overall the entire experience was very pleasant and urged me to buy my first ever foundation (yes I am a beauty blogger who has never used foundation before). I also bought a lipstick that will be in a blog post in the future, as will the foundation. If any of you are thinking about getting this experience then don't listen to the people who say that all MAC workers are horrible because they aren't. Actually most are super nice and helpful.
This is what my full make-up look looked like.

This is from my snapchat but it shows the eye make-up more clearly and as the caption does say I love it.
